What makes this production such a success is not only the talented acting but also the extraordinary dance numbers with tap-dancing rapping the boards and raising the rafters. Ensemble numbers like “Slap That Bass,” “Tonight’s The Night,” “The Real American Folk Song,” “Stiff Upper Lip” and the rousing reprise finale hit the entertainment heights with sheer excitement. The Gershwin magic works wonders under the expert guidance of choreographer Chaz Wolcott. The leads and company sang and tapped their way into the hearts of the happy capacity audience at Wednesday’s matinee.
